All files can be attached to tasks, milestones, task lists, posts, discussions, Wiki pages, etc.
The Files app can be used alone for Secure File sharing in a project - or - with other GroupCamp apps.
Secure file sharing in a project
All files are uploaded or downloaded in HTTPS and therefore fully encrypted under the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. You therefore avoid exchanging critical information by email which are usually transferred over the Internet without any encryption mecanism.
Only users who are authenticated in your account can access files of the projects of which they are members.
The data for each project is siled. You must be a member of the project to access the project files.
Actions on files are saved. You know who created, updated or deleted a file.
Files that belong to deleted projects or users are saved.
Private files and Client collaboration
With GroupCamp, projects are collaborative. You can invite your clients, partners or suppliers in your projects.
In each project, you can hide specific files from your guests. For example, files that are not fully ready or files that should remain private.
Add files and notify your project members: Notify users
The Post a message feature allows you to notify users by sending them messages with attachments.
Select files using your mouse or your keyboard shortcuts
Click on the Post option
Selected members will receive a message in their Inbox application.

Access and share your Box, Dropbox, OneDrive and Google Drive files in your project
Browse through attachments on an item thanks to the Attached Files tab located in the Information panel of the item.
The linked items tab in the Information panel of a File allows you to find out on which item the attached file is located.
Manage multiple versions of a file
GroupCamp online file sharing, makes it easy to manage versions. You can add new versions on a shared file and update other project members
Any tasks or wiki page linked to a file is always associated with the latest version of that file. Users have the flexibility of adding different extensions as a new version of an initial file. For example if you are a Google Drive users and have shared an initial document, you can choose, once a file has reached its final version, to import the latest version as a PDF file.
To add a new version for a file, use the menu by right clicking with your mouse and select the New version option.
In the New version window, download or select a file already present in your GroupCamp account.
The new file version is taken into account, the version counter will increase.
With GroupCamp, files management is simple. You can save up time and gain in flexibility thanks to the file versioning system.
Send files and notify your project members by sending an email. Save and share your files.
Each project has a Project feed email address allowing you to send files by email to the project.
You can save this email address in your email software.
When you add files as attachments in your email, these files are automatically stored in the Shared with the projectfolder of the project's Files application.
Use the "Shared with the project" folder
Thanks to the Shared with the project folder, you can browse through files that are not yet sorted in your project. By opening a file's Information panel, you can find out precisely on which items the file has been attached.You can sort files in your project's folders.
For example:A file added as an attachment on a task, providing background information on the task, does not need to be sorted. A reference file in your project can be sorted in one of the project's folders.
Files are added to the Shared with the project folder in the following cases:
Files that are uploaded as attachments on a project's item (task, milestone, etc.).,
Files that belong to another project or another user and that have been added as attachments on a project's item,
Files that were attachments and sent by email or posted in a project,
Files that were attachments in a project's shared post.
You can sort these files one by once by clicking on the Move to folder button, you can also select several files at one or use the drag and drop option.
Set up the Files application
The settings for the Files application give you the ability to define privileges for your users.
Note: The Files application can be disabled in the Project settings.
Secure file sharing: Key features
GroupCamp allows you to upload files, links, images and videos. Connect your Box, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive account to access and manage all your files in your projects.
Organize your files in folders, move files from one folder to another thanks to the drag and drop option.
Organize your files with tags. Search files by tag.
The upload a new file window gives you many options:
File tab: Upload all files type directly from your terminal or thanks to the drag and drop option.
Image tab: Upload all "image" type files in the following formats: jpg, png, gif, bmp, svg and tiff
Search images on a web page
Save an Internet page as an image (too complex pages are not supported).
Select and upload "Image" files or use the drag and drop option.
Video tab: Add links to web videos
Search a video online
GroupCamp accepts YouTube, DailyMotion and Vimeo videos
Link (URL) tab: Add links to web pages
- Collect page title, link, page text description (content from the Meta name="description" tag)
- Reduced size picture displayed on the link
Search tab: For files already uploaded in your GroupCamp account, you can link or copy them in your project

Connect with third party online services
Share Box, DropBox, OneDrive or Google Drive files in your account (these services can be enabled in your account).
Manage rights for your Google Drive files in your GroupCamp account.
The Shared with the project folder allows you to access and browse through files that have been:
Uploaded directly on items located in project applications (tasks, milestones, etc)
Added on a comment located in one of the project items
Posted by email thanks to the drop box email address located in the Activity application
The Search feature gives you the abilty to find files located in a project by cross referencing full-text criteria, users and file type.
Read through Application feeds
The Items feed allows you to access files that have been recently updated (comments, new versions, deletion).
The Recent items feed allows you to access the most recent files that have been created in a project.
Manage file versions
Add a new file version thanks to a simple click.
New versions of a file are automatically disseminated on all items (tasks, milestones, etc,). that have that particular file as attachment.
New versions are propagated to users and projects where the document is shared.
The file version list is accessible by clicking on the Versions tab located in the Information panel of a file.
See download and preview requests for each file
List of members that requested to download or preview the file along with the date
Find out if you have downloaded this file or not
The file cannot be shared outside the project.
The file is only visible for colleagues that are members of the project. Guests do not have access to it.

Post files and notify project members
Select files by using your mouse (Ctrl + click) or use keyboard shortcuts
Select Post, files are attached to the post. Select your recipients then write your message.
Click OK, the post is sent out and will appear in the Inbox application of each recipient. Depending on your recipients' email notification preferences, they will also be notified by email.
Follow a file, add or remove followers
In the Inbox app., clicking on the icon Follow this item allows you to be notified every time the file is updated.
Clicking on a file's name automatically opens its information panel. You will then have access to the followers tab.

New attachments are added in the Shared with the group folder located in the Files app.

A file can be attached on a task, a milestone, a Wiki page, a post.. and even another file.
Clicking on the file's name allows you to open its Information panel and access the linked items tab.
File ownership and file sharing
A file can belong to a project or a user
Only the file owner can permanently delete his/her file or change the file ownership
When a file is shared in another project or with other users that are not members of the owner's project: the file can be in three different modes: Read only (download), Read only + Comments or Update (a new version can be added). For example when posting a messsage with files that belong to one project in the attachments.
Places where the file is shared can be found in the information panel of each file.

Select multiple folder and/or file to get a ZIP-file.
