Browse your Google Contacts from your Project Management Software and your online GroupCamp account
We are happy to announce that GroupCamp is now integrated with Google Contacts for accounts installed from the Google Apps Marketplace.
If you have a GroupCamp account attached to your Google Apps domain, you can now browse all your contacts to add users to your GroupCamp account. Please note that an administrator of your Google Apps domain must first grant access by GroupCamp to Google Contacts data. This is done in the Google Apps administrator control panel.
The rest is straightforward. For instance in the new Guests application in the administrator section use the ‘New guests from your Google Apps contacts’ link to add users from your list of Google contacts.
With one simple click search for the first name, last name or email address of a contact.
Please note that you can select relevant contacts which will be added to your ‘Selected’ list you can then continue your search for new contacts..
Selected contacts are then presented as new guests. You can complete the form with additional information.
Click on OK, when you are ready to add the contacts. Users are tagged as ‘Not yet invited’. To invite your new guests, you need to invite them to join selected projects by clicking on the ‘+Projects’ tab. Once they are added to projects, an email invitation will be sent out.
This is a first presentation of our Google contacts integration which should help improve user management and avoid double entries in your GroupCamp account. As always please send us your feedback. Please note that we are working to make this feature available also for Gmail (Google Account) and not only for Google Apps accounts.
